Formal Season is Coming Up!
Formal season is coming up quickly and there is a few things on your mind. The outfit, the hair and the make-up (well for some of you at least) and hopefully this will help you decide what type of make-up style you want to go with.
The main bit of advice I have is go for something that will be long lasting. You want your make-up to stay with you through the night so that photos of you at 11pm are still just as gorgeous after four hours of dancing as the photos of you at the beginning of the night. So as beautiful as that glitter lip is how is it going to look in half an hour without you spending twenty minutes of your night redoing it in the bathroom.
Remember though, this is your formal and to choose something that fits with your personality and your style. These are just a few suggestions of pretty looks that you can work around your hair and outfit to tie everything in nicely.
The Classic
Simple and beautiful, this look is nice and neutral. Beautiful bright and natural looking eyes usually with light browns and cream colours to extenuate your eyes natural blush colours and a simple nude or lovely pink lip.

The Pin Up
This is a popular look at the moment and it’s gorgeous on pretty much everyone. You have a strong lip, usually red and winged eyeliner.

The Smokey Eye
A Smokey eye doesn’t have to be incredibly dark like most people think. It all depends on how bold you want it and whether or not your want to keep it to neutral colours or add some colour.

The Bold Look
So you love colour and you want your eyes to be the main focus for the night. You can pick complimenting colours to your outfit or match it to a handbag, your shoes or your dress. This is not for the light hearted but is an incredibly fun and vibrant look to go with.

Preparations for the day
Do not under any circumstances get a spray tan the day before always do a few days before just in case of emergencies. I always find getting a facial or exfoliate the day or two before will leave your skin soft and smooth which means your make-up is going to last so much longer on the night. My absolute favourite thing to use is St Ives Apricot Scrub, it is all natural and I have sensitive skin and have absolutely no reaction. I actually use this three times a week and my skin thanks me for it. However you need to find what works for you. Always patch test products before using them.
Most important – MOISTURISE, religiously people it is so important, not just for this but in general.
Hopefully this helped with a few ideas for your upcoming formal and I hope it’s a wonderful night!
